Revolution #6

Today I woke up and just couldn't take it any more.

I took a long look in the mirror, poked at a few blemishes cropping up under my jawline.

Made alternating "fat belly/skinny belly" poses.

Tried to get my hair to lay down with some water and hair gel.

Examined the freakishly large, colorless mole in my hairline.

Tried to determine if the "extra whitening" toothpaste I've been using is really working.

Leaned over the toilet bowl...

And shaved my head.

I haven't seen my natural color (except growing in at the bottom of another color) in more than 10 years.  It's nicer than I remembered.

Fat belly/skinny belly poses are fun -- wish I could do them with my ass and thighs. Though at 43 and after twice swelling with child to mammoth size... my skin is tired. It's not really sagging, but I miss the tight as a drum thing. I am lucky that I don't have the "flap" that most of my friends have from pregnancy, but it's still kind of drag. Even my 10 year younger friends have it. I am sitting for one of them in August during her recovery from tummy tuck/breast lift surgery. I can't believe she feels guilty because it's "vain." It is vain. So what!

I am shooting for March as "tummy tuck" month. And you're right -- I don't care if it's vain. If it makes me feel better about myself, then hurray for me!

I work hard to stay in shape, and I am sick of looking at my post-baby tummy knowing that no matter how many miles I run or ab exercises I do, it will never return to "normal".

I am hot -- and I want to wear low rise jeans and cropped tops with my badass Green Lantern bellybutton ring on full display without being in the least bit self-conscious.

Can't fucking wait.

How can you make a post like this and NOT include pictures?

Seriously.

I don't have pictures yet, but picture Annie Lennox, not Britney-after-rehab.

I'm only vaguely aware of what my wife's natural color is supposed to look like.

It is interesting trying to figure out what my son's hair color will look like as it grows in on his six-month-old head. His hair seems to look very similar to his older sister's hair as opposed to either mom's or dad's.

And I also call for a picture...
